Shoprite’s bursary purse for 2018 has not been depleted and all students are welcome to apply and experience the freedom of studying without the heavy burden of financial stress.
Bursary holder Siphosethu Bota (21), a third year student studying towards a degree in Retail Business Management at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, did not give up when his first application for a Shoprite bursary in 2016 was unsuccessful.

He was able to register for his second year despite unpaid debt and when he applied for the bursary a second time he was successful.

Siphosethu, who moved to Cape Town from Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape, finds the work-back agreement one of the best aspects of this bursary.

Last year Shoprite’s bursary programme paid for the studies of 287 students, which translated to a investment of more than R16 million.
The bursary programme is aimed exclusively at students studying the following courses:
Accounting (Chartered Accountants)
Pharmacy
Retail Business Management
Logistics
IT
