Every one of our South African Shoprite stores has participated in the ‘Class of…’ competition once again. This competition has been running for the past 10 years and has had thousands of scholars benefitting from it.

The competition that ran from 1 to 31 January 2016, allows the entrants to stand a chance to win up to R5 000 towards their annual school fees. In order to compete, scholars must have drawn a picture or written an essay which described what they would like to be when they grow up. The store chose one winner as per random draw.

This means that in 2016, 435 learners have received an amount towards their school fees and or stationary donations. At Shoprite, we believe that education is the foundation for further development and entrepreneurship as it equips the youth to unlock their immense potential.

From doctors to lawyers to fire fighters, we are dreaming big along with the scholars of 2016.  Here are some of this year's Shoprite Class of 2016 winners:
