The Shoprite Group thanks its customers for raising R500 000 in support of relief efforts following last month’s devastating fires in the Free State.

Customers still wishing to contribute can donate R5 or more at the till point in any Shoprite, Checkers or Usave supermarket in the Free State.

All donations go into the Act For Change Fund, which was established specifically to support communities in distress. All proceeds will be donated to Gift of the Givers to support the organisation’s extensive relief efforts in the area.

“The generosity of the Shoprite, Checkers and Usave shoppers will be deeply felt by their neighbours in the Free State.”

-  Badr Kazi from Gift of the Givers

The Shoprite Group is always among the first to respond when disaster strikes. It has donated more than 1000 food packs to families affected by the Boshoff fires, as well as cattle feed valued at R200 000.
