Organisers of the DStv Kyknet Mitchells Plain Festival have partnered with Shoprite to ensure a reliable power supply for the duration of this three-day event.
Taking place from 1 – 3 December 2023, the festival is known for its diverse entertainment lineup, local food vendors, artisan stalls, and family-friendly activities.
Shoprite – which has five supermarkets serving customers in the Mitchells Plain area – recognises the importance of supporting local events that promote community spirit and contribute to economic growth. To ensure that loadshedding does not disrupt festivities, the supermarket chain will cover the generator and diesel costs for this event.
“The festival creates over one thousand part-time jobs and offers valuable opportunities for residents to contribute to their community’s success. The partnership with Shoprite is a match made in heaven, as we both share the common goal of supporting and uplifting the Mitchells Plain community.”
- Rozario Brown, founder and director of the Mitchells Plain Festival
