The Khula Development Group is on a mission to reintegrate primary school children in disadvantaged communities, who are at risk of dropping out, back into the education system.

Based in Paarl and Stellenbosch in the Western Cape, the registered non-profit organisation believes that a person is never too young to take charge of your life and aims to promote a positive culture of learning and strengthen the value of education in the minds of the youth.

In support of their work, Khula recently received a R12 000 gift card, from the Shoprite Community Network.

“We were so happy to be chosen to receive this gift card as it will assist us in promoting school attendance and preventing primary school learners from dropping out of the school system. Through love and education, we can make a difference.”

Since 2006, the Shoprite Community Network has been assisting 12 different community organisations across South Africa every month, ranging from early childhood development centers, soup kitchens and schools.
