Shoprite K’nect stores offer convenience and expertise on affordable cellular products and related services for tech-savvy and connected customers. The first store opened in 2019 and the brand’s focus lies in getting customers K’nected.


Brand Overview

K’nect is the Group’s latest stand-alone store format which sells cellular products and related services and offers entry-level financial services and products to consumers across all income sectors. The first store was opened in Delft Mall, Cape Town, on 27 May 2019, representing our entry into the tech-sphere.

K’nect stores aim to meet customers’ needs when it comes to airtime bundles, a data top-up or even a brand-new electronic device such as a cellphone, remote or flash drive.

For added convenience, each K’nect store offers specialist and express tills.

K’nect Mobile launched in March 2021, adding a new revenue stream to the Group’s financial services and cellular division. Alongside handsets and data products that were already available at any K’nect store, Money Market counter or TechX counter, customers can now buy airtime and data from our own network.
