Shoprite and Checkers stores have an exciting range of consumer leaflets to keep their customers informed about aspects concerning a better and healthier lifestyle. The leaflets provide valuable information on a variety of topical issues such as health care, consumer information, as well as a recipe range.
The latest leaflet in the health care range was created in association with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) to promote their annual Cuppa for Cansa campaign which this year puts the spotlight on leading a healthy balanced lifestyle and eating healthy foods to help fight cancer. Research has shown that, up to 40% of cancers can be prevented by living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The leaflet provides healthy eating, cooking and drinking tips aimed at reducing the risk of getting cancer.
The Shoprite Checkers supermarket group is proud to be the main sponsor of Cuppa for CANSA, a nationwide initiative hosted by volunteers, partners and members of the public who want to raise awareness and funds for CANSA and show their support for its mission to fight cancer and save lives. In keeping with their campaign focus on healthy living and eating nutritious foods such as a rainbow of fruits and vegetables daily in order to help prevent cancer, the Cuppa for CANSA theme this year is “Host a colourful Cuppa”. Shoprite and Checkers will be facilitating colourful Cuppa’s in its stores countrywide during June, and will donate the proceeds of all in-store Cuppa events to CANSA. In 2008 Shoprite Checkers raised more than R500 000 that was donated towards the expansion of its prevention programmes and patient care services around the country.
The Shoprite Checkers consumer leaflets demonstrate the supermarket group’s commitment to care for the communities they operate in. The group believes an informed consumer is a better consumer, and aims to provide information and hints on a range of topics that touches the average South African shopper daily.
Next time you visit a Shoprite, Checkers or Checkers Hyper store, remember to visit the consumer board where the latest consumer leaflets are displayed. Electronic versions of the leaflets are also available on www.shoprite.co.za in the Consumer Centre section.
