Following the weekend’s flash floods in Ivory Park, Tembisa, Shoprite acted swiftly to bring relief to affected community members.

A Shoprite Mobile Soup Kitchen was immediately dispatched to serve warm meals to those displaced and affected by the floods.

The retailer is also donating essential food parcels – containing rice, maize meal, cooking oil and other non-perishables – to Gift of the Givers to distribute to families.

“Shoprite remains in close contact with the relevant disaster relief authorities and will assist for as long as necessary..”

- Sanjeev Raghubir, Sustainability Manager at the Shoprite Group
