Checkers created 32 new jobs with the opening of its supermarket at the Forest Walk Centre in Pretoria.

This new store offers customers a convenient shopping experience and access to several in-store departments including fresh foods, a Meat Market and hot & cold foods deli.

Customers can also save time by making use of the in-store Money Market counter. Services include money transfers, buying lotto tickets, paying municipal bills, topping up data, airtime or electricity, purchasing gift cards or savings stamps, buying bus tickets, taking out insurance, and even getting a credit report.

The store is managed by Tumelo Makhele, who joined the Shoprite Group in 2010 as a bulk stock assistant. He has held various positions prior to being promoted to branch manager in 2021.

Checkers Forest Walk’s trading hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08:00 – 20:00.
