The Shoprite Group donated 2 000 care packs to health workers at the Kalafong Provincial Tertiary and Tshwane District Hospitals in Pretoria.

The care packages, containing snacks, water and essential toiletries like bars of soap and waterless hand sanitisers, were distributed on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 February as a gesture of appreciation for the medical and support personnel who have been working tirelessly in the fight against Covid-19.

“Our healthcare workers are working around the clock saving lives amidst the pandemic. We are extremely grateful to Shoprite for extending this gesture to us. Their thoughtfulness is very encouraging during this time when we yearn to be embraced.”

- Dr Sello Matjila, Chief Executive Officer of the Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital
