Originally from Lichtenburg in the North West, 24-year-old Liné Visser is currently the second pharmacist at MediRite Klipfontein in Witbank, Mpumalanga.

The former Shoprite bursary holder completed her degree at the North West University in 2017 and then joined the Group’s graduate programme, which she says helped her to prepare for the working environment.

“In my first year at MediRite we received training in business finances and how to manage different personality types in customers and coworkers. We also learned more about the Group, as well as our role in the business. This training was very helpful and informative.”

For her the best thing about the Shoprite bursary was that neither she nor her parents had to worry about money to pay her university fees.

“Also, not only was I guaranteed a job once I graduated, I was also guaranteed holiday work, which was important since gaining practical experience was a requirement of our course,” she adds.
