The Shoprite Group thanked its customers for their patience and understanding in a statement released after a two-day work stoppage in some Shoprite and Checkers supermarkets in South Africa.
It confirmed that all Shoprite and Checkers stores will be open and trading as normal over the Easter weekend from Friday, 30 March 2018 for its customers’ shopping needs.
The Group said it remains a priority to resolve the matters that have been discussed with the union over a period of time through the appropriate channels in the interest of both employees and customers.
