The TOPSTARS semi-final roadshow is underway across Africa.
The massively popular performance contest, presented by the Shoprite Group of Companies for its employees, is now in its 11th year and the producer and local music legend, Mynie Grové says it’s bigger and better than ever:
The first of the nine semi-finals kicks off in Bloemfontein on 13 June and will conclude in Windhoek on 21 July 2017. Over this period, Shoprite employees from across Africa embark on a journey of singing, dancing and self-discovery.
At the semi-finals, contestants are offered performance coaching and motivational inspiration from mentors in the music industry to prepare for their moment in the spotlight. Katlego Maboe hosts the events and includes performances from various dynamic South African artists.

Shoprite employees from all over Africa are able to enter, including staff from Checkers, Shoprite, Usave, House & Home, OK Furniture, LiquorShop, Computicket, MediRite and Hungry Lion chains.
Callie Burger, Shoprite Group’s Human Resources Director, says staff are the company’s most important asset and TOPSTARS is firmly entrenched as an annual highlight for everyone in the Group;
