From September until November 2017 Shoprite and Checkers customers can donate R5 or more at any till-point to help fight hunger in South Africa.
Hunger is a disaster more than 14 million South Africans face every day.
All the proceeds raised will be donated to Food & Trees for Africa, an organisation that addresses the issues of food security and environmental sustainability. With their Food Gardens for Africa programme they implement and maintain permaculture food gardens in communities.
The Shoprite Group proudly supports 24 gardens in South Africa, collectivlely helping to feed 4 253 people.

Hunger relief is a core focus of our corporate social investment programme, which aims to provide effective and sustainable solutions to address short, medium and long-term food scarcity needs in South Africa.
