The devastating fire which recently occurred the township of Alexandra in Johannesburg, left several families without food and shelter. Shoprite’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the local communities in which it operates prompted the retailer to assist. The Shoprite Mobile Soup Truck served a hot cup of soup to the displaced residents and also provided the families with food hampers and blankets after their homes were destroyed by the fire.

The Shoprite Group pledges to continue hunger relief efforts during the winter season through its #ActForChange initiative. Shoprite is also working closely with Provincial Disaster Management Centres to identify and assist areas in distress.
