1 February 2016
On Tuesday 9 February 2016, Checkers supermarkets celebrated Pancake Day by giving schools the opportunity to make and sell pancakes at our stores.
Checkers identified Pancake Day as an opportunity to promote entrepreneurial activities at schools, and gave them the opportunity to sell pancakes at their local Checkers store and keep the proceeds. Checkers provided all ingredients, while schools took charge of the project - from mixing batter to manning their stands and managing sales.
AmeyLee Kibidon, Emlynn Jacobs and Megan Arrison made and sold pancakes at Checkers Hyper Brackenfell.
Anika Hoen and Karla Gill from Mikro Primary School in Kuilsriver sold pancakes at Checkers Zevenwacht
