Shoprite opened its 43rd store in Mpumalanga on 21 April 2016 at Ingwe Mall in the community of Malelane. As the leading retailer in Africa with over 435 stores in the country, the Shoprite Malelane store opening is an important milestone for the group. Shoprite employs over 110 000 people across its operations in South Africa and this store opening will see an additional 200 new jobs being created for locals.
Shoprite Malelane customers can expect the same everyday low prices the retailer has become known for, as well as great in-store services and convenience. The new store will cater for all customers’ daily, weekly and monthly food and household requirements. Over and above a wide range of food and non-food lines, it will feature various service departments including a meat market, bakery, a hot and cold foods deli and a fresh fruit and vegetable department.

These include making easy and affordable money transfers to any Shoprite and Checkers store in South Africa; settling municipal or service account payments; buying national lottery, bus, airline and Computicket event tickets; and more.
To celebrate the opening, the first customer receives an iPad and furthermore, customers can look forward to great opening specials, in-store competitions, including the chance to win a washing machine and shopping vouchers.
