Now for the first time in the history of the Championship Boerewors competition, you South Africa, can vote for your favourite to become this year’s champion and stand to win your share of R100 000 in prizes or a Heritage Day braai party by doing so!
The public can buy, try and vote for their favourite by purchasing a special edition 3-in-1 Championship Boerewors pack available from Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide from 28 August to 10 September. Vote via SMS or online and you could be one of 20 winners who each walk away with a R5000 shopping voucher! In addition, online voters who share their vote on social media could also win the ultimate Heritage Day braai party worth R10 000!
The top three boerewors-fundis in South Africa, chosen by a panel of expert judges from the South African Chef’s Association and who will now have their recipes voted for, are Phinah Maimela (37) from Lydenburg in Mpumalanga, George Baloyi (52) from Soshanguve in Gauteng and Ayanda Dyanse (28) from Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape. All three are eager to see whose recipe will be selected as 2015’s champion!
South Africa’s number ONE boerewors will be on sale in all Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide from 18 September – just in time to celebrate Heritage Day or be enjoyed whilst watching the Rugby World Cup!
