Gift wrapping raises over R1.6 million for charity

The Shoprite Group is delighted to have been able to donate over R1.6 million to charities throughout the country in another of its annual Festive Season drives. During December 2012 Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores throughout South Africa provided a gift-wrapping service for gifts bought at stores. A small donation was requested per gift-wrap and proceeds collected were donated to selected local charities in each store’s vicinity.

The Group is fortunate to have been able to assist in providing a channel through which our customers could assist these charities. Gift wrapping is a way to make a gift more special and this is one way we can add value to the lives of the less fortunate.
