In its bid to continuously find innovative ways in which to provide its customers with value-added offerings that cost them less, the Shoprite group has, right on time for the holiday season, extended its travel service with the introduction of bookings for holiday packages, hotels and flight tickets from all local airlines, available from its Computicket facility in-store and online.
The extension of the Shoprite group’s already comprehensive offering in transport and entertainment tickets follows the conclusion of an agreement with Thompson’s tours, the largest wholesaler of holiday packages in South Africa.
Computicket can now act as booking agents for all local airlines, including British Airways, 1Time, Kulula and South African Airways. In November 2007 the Shoprite group became the first retailer in the country to act as a ticket issuing agent for an airline when it added flights aboard Mango to its portfolio of bus travel tickets. Computicket now also offers a booking facility for large hotel groups such as Protea Hotels and selected guest houses, as well as holiday packages to local and international destinations.
The extended travel and holiday package service is available from Computicket at the Money Market counters of more than 500 Shoprite and Checkers stores, through its website www.computicket.com, and via its call centre on 083 915 8000.
Shoprite and Checkers’ Money Market counters focus on adding value to their customer’s shopping experience by providing convenience and saving them time. The current Money Market service-offering include products such as cell phone and Telkom pre-paid airtime, money transfers between supermarkets in South Africa, education savings policies, payments for more than 200 accounts, as well as insurance policies for accident and funeral cover.
Customers can now enjoy the added convenience of being able to make bookings for holiday packages, hotels and flight tickets from all local airlines in-store at the Money Markets of all Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores countrywide.
