Popular soap actor Matt Cedeño, also known as Brandon Walker on SABC 1 and NBC’s hit soapie Days of Our Lives, is visiting South Africa as part of the Shoprite Positive Experience.
This campaign aims to highlight the plight of HIV positive people in our community and to raise awareness of this devastating disease. Because the Shoprite Group of Companies cares about the welfare of it customers, it is proud to be the sponsor of this event.
Between Friday 28 May and Saturday June 5 Matt Cedeño will travel to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth, where he’ll visit schools, malls, nightclubs, homes for children with HIV/Aids, as well as homes for the elderly.
He will call upon the youth to abstain from sexual activities and to know their HIV status by having themselves tested. He will also encourage HIV positive people to use their treatment exactly as prescribed and inform them of the dangers of missing or skipping dosages.
On Saturday 5 June under-18s are invited to meet Matt at the party at Dockside Superclub at Century City in Cape Town.
PEOPLE Magazine voted Matt Cedeño as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World in May 2002 and then again in March 2004, PEOPLE En Espanol Magazine listed Cedeño as one of the 25 Hottest Latin Bachelors in the World. Three years in a row he was nominated for an ALMA award as Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama for his work as Brandon Walker on Days of Our Lives.
