Our Money Markets started in 1998 with a vision of bringing a comprehensive range of financial services and products to our customers at our conveniently located supermarkets.
 In contrast with other retailers we created a dedicated service counter called “Money Market” to transact financial services and products in our supermarkets. Currently our Money Markets serve more than 17 million customers per month, allowing for normal trading hours, we serve 680 customers per minute!
With Computicket now firmly vested in the Shoprite Group of Companies stable, Shoprite customers can rest assured that a ticket bought at Computicket is a ticket they can trust. Computicket is South Africa’s number one ticket provider; be it theatre, opera, events, ballet, music, movies or sport. Customers can also purchase a comprehensive range of phone cards such as MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Telkom, postage stamps and game scratch cards. Additionally, more than 200 different third party accounts can be paid at the Money Market counter, including 80 different municipalities nation-wide, water and electricity, property rates and taxes, telephone accounts and funeral policy payments. Our customers can even purchase bus tickets and buy pre-paid electricity vouchers! We are also one of the biggest sellers of Lotto tickets and pay more than 60% of all Lotto prizes!
