The Shoprite Group entered the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) market in 1997 with the introduction of the Hungry Lion brand. From the launch of their first store in Stellenbosch, the concept has grown into a chain of 150 fast food outlets operating in eight countries throughout Southern Africa.
