Cuppa for Cansa

Each year during the month of June, our Cuppa for Cansa promotion supports the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) in its fight against cancer. Shoprite and Checkers facilitates Cuppa’s in its stores countrywide during June, and donate the proceeds of all in-store Cuppa events to CANSA. In 2009 Shoprite Checkers raised more than R580 000 that was donated towards the expansion of its prevention programmes and patient care services around the country.

Shoprite and Checkers stores have an exciting range of consumer leaflets to keep their customers informed about aspects concerning a better and healthier lifestyle. The latest leaflet in the health care range was created in association with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) to promote their annual Cuppa for Cansa campaign which this year puts the spotlight on leading a healthy balanced lifestyle and eating healthy foods to help fight cancer. Research has shown that, up to 40% of cancers can be prevented by living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The leaflet provides healthy eating, cooking and drinking tips aimed at reducing the risk of getting cancer.
